Visiting your Highland Estate
“Take only photographs, leave only footprints”
As a new Scottish landowner and neighbour, we welcome you to visit your land whenever you wish. The land is yours to use however you wish. We would encourage you to plant a tree (preferably native Scottish) and perhaps place a commemorative plaque. You may wish to scatter the ashes of a loved one or simply have your photograph taken. Feel free to visit with your friends and stay a while. In summer, the riverbank is the perfect spot for a picnic and from the top of the hill the views are breathtaking. If you have purchased a 100 sq.ft. or larger plot feel free to camp, but please follow the country code and leave no litter. Please also remember that the river fishing is private (although you may fish in Loch Linnhe), and it is illegal to pick wild flowers.
How to locate your Plot
From Glencoe, take the A828 south to Duror Village. About a mile beyond the small right hand turning to Cuil the road crosses the Salachan Burn and the land to the left of the road becomes flat. Park in a lay-by next to the sign to Bealach B&B. Walk back along the road over the bridge and follow the footpath (red on map below) to Glencoe Wood. You can take a virtual drive along the road by Glencoe Wood and the Keil Estate. Starting from here in the picture below, drive forwards (north) along the A828 and Glencoe Wood is on your right in a few hundred yards. The Keil Estate extends for a mile along the road.

The Plot Locator map will enable you to get to the approximate location of your estate. Because it is impractical to stake each plot, you will require a GPS to get the last few metres to the exact location of your estate. Simply set your GPS to find the Ordnance Survey Reference point which you will be given when you make your purchase.
When you visit your plot, we recommend you take the Ordnance Survey Landranger Oban & East Mull Sheet 49.
