Last Friday, 12 Aug, marked the official launch of the Grouse hunting season (also known as the “Glorious Twelfth”). In a continuing effort to raise awareness of the ecological dangers of intensive land management practices on the estates where this “sport” takes place, we’ve compiled a collection of videos to back up our endeavour to ban driven grouse shooting once and for all. You’ll note we’ve included no less than 3 videos from Springwatch presenter, Chris Packham, who has emerged as a strong speaker on behalf of the cause. If you want to see more from him, his Youtube channel includes more videos on the subject, as well as a variety of other related causes that he supports.

Petition Update

We are so proud to announce that the petition, which we first spoke about back in April has finally reached its goal of 100,000 signatures and will now be debated in Parliament. Considering we posted just last week urging people to sign when the tally was only 78,000 signatures, we feel that is quite the feat!

Please sign and show Parliament just how many of us are tired of the persecution of innocent animals and the unnecessary intensive land management practices taking place here in the UK.

I dont want you to kill these lovely little birds on my land. These little birds need a chance along with the other wild life that lives there. No animals should be kill for fun!!!!!.

I voted no on this subject. I think that using guns to shoot birds is cruel, and I would like to see an end to it. After all, it is only the moneyed people who can afford this “Sport”, and the destruction that is caused by them is appalling. The gamekeepers are killing the raptors, just to satisfy a few peoples blood lust for a few weeks each year, and woe betide the gamekeepers if there are not enough grouse to be shot at. I think that all shooting of animals and birds for sport should be stopped, and we need a concerted effort to get this done.
