Glencoe, May 14-15, 2014
We would like to invite you to come home – to Glencoe, Scotland in the year of Homecoming. We are preparing two days of activities, centred around a day at Glencoe House, once the home of Lord and Lady Strathcona and now an iconic country house hotel in Glencoe which looks out over Loch Leven. Meet us, visit your plot, and perhaps also meet the people who own the plot next door to yours.
On the morning of the first day, you will be welcomed by the trustees of the Guernsey registered Highland Titles Charitable Trust for Scotland* with champagne and canapés followed by a Hog Roast buffet lunch. There will be several short and informative presentations to update you on our various achievements at the local Nature Reserve plus more general talks on the history and natural history of the area. To complete the afternoon, you will take a walk with our Piper before returning for afternoon tea. After an opportunity to dress for dinner, a Scottish banquet will be served at Glencoe House, followed by musical entertainment and a selection of Scotch malt whiskies.
On the following day, you will be taken to visit the Nature Reserve on a guided walk, see the Diamond Jubilee Wood, find your plot and plant a tree yourself. Like last year, we will also be planting a special tree to commemorate the event. Lunch will be an informal buffet served in Duror followed by a fun packed afternoon culminating in a boat trip on Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe or a Segway ride or Laser Clay shooting.
Whilst in the area you will have the opportunity to take part in other activities in the area on other days, but the main event will be on Wednesday May 14th 2014 and Thursday May 15th. Tickets are on sale through our web site, priced at US$195 (£125) per head, to include a champagne reception, lunch and dinner. Day tickets and tickets without dinner are also available; please contact us for details. A full hotel bar will be available throughout the day for drinks and transport will be available to collect you from other hotels and guest houses in the area. This is the perfect intimate setting for you to meet us and discover all that we are doing. Strangers are only friends you haven’t met yet and you will have lots of opportunities to make new friends from all parts of the globe – and Scotland. Why not take a look at a selection of photographs from last year?
For your convenience, we have booked two hotels for the exclusive use of our guests. Glencoe House Hotel and the Holly Tree Hotel.
