Visiting the land

The Highland Titles Nature Reserve, near Duror, has a visitor’s centre and offers a guided tour for Lairds, Lords and Ladies.

The other estates are more wild and remote. Whilst they do not have a visitor centre or guided tour on offer, some of the views are simply stunning!

Please do bear in mind that the terrain at the other reserves can be challenging.

Finding your plot

To get the precise location of your plot on Google Maps, log in to the Welcome Dashboard.

You will also see the What3Words string which provides the location of the 3m x 3m square that your plot lies within.

What3Words is commonly used by emergency services in the UK to find locations that are tricky to describe.

Conservation Projects

We do our best to conserve, preserve and restore the Scottish landscape. We work with a number of likeminded organisations trying to make a real difference to Scotland for generations to come.

Wildlife

Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of our work is seeing species return to the area and make it a home once more. As we plant more trees to provide shelter and reuse fallen trees to build homes for insects, the number of species at the reserve increases every year.

We regularly share many stories, videos and photos about wildlife at our reserves on our social media pages and blog. Make sure you ‘like’ and ‘follow’ to learn more, and visit the individual reserve pages (linked above) for further information about the particular species that have already settled in.

Our Journey

2006
Our Story Begins
Highland Titles starts selling souvenir plots of land from the family farm at Tulloch.
2006
The Highland Titles Nature Reserve is launched
In late 2006 Highland Titles purchased 220 acres of land at Duror, near Glencoe. This land is now known as The Highland Titles Nature Reserve, an official 4* tourist attraction and according to Trip Advisor, the most popular nature reserve in Scotland!
2007
We Started Planting Trees!
Reintroducing native trees to the Nature Reserve is an aim of Highland Titles, progress started in 2007.
2013
A Year of Firsts!
We started work on the first Lochan, planting trees and we gave our first Guided Tours in August 2013.
2014
Developing Highland Titles
Highland Titles built our first Reception Cabin at Duror and started Buggy Guided Tours.
2014
Mountainview
Highland Titles buys 180 acres of land roughly 10 miles West of Invergarry called Mountainview. With advice from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, we’re attempting to make this area a haven for bumblebees.
2016
Sited Our First Honeybee Hives
We placed our first honey bee hives at Mountainview Nature Reserve.
2017
More Development at Duror
We built our first Wildcat enclosure and added a new Reception area with a small shop for visitors.
2018
A Special Visit..
National Geographic visited our Nature Reserve(!) and our Forever Home for Injured Hedgehogs was built.
2018
Started Creating The Cycle Path
Always wanting to give back to the local community, the introduction of a cycle path through the reserve was a welcome one to give back to the area.
2019
Hedgehog Hospital Built
Further developing on our Forever Home for Injured Hedgehogs, we built a Hedgehog Hospital to offer a rehabilitation centre for these stunning residents of the reserve.
2021
The Kilnaish Estate
Later in 2021, we bought the Kilnaish Estate, which is 300 acres of land near Tarbert on the West Coast. As well as being a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), this land offers superb views off Scotland’s West Coast towards the Isle of Gigha.
2021
Giving Back To The Forest
We began felling the non-native Sitka Spruce to replace with native trees to Scotland to replenish the land and wildlife at the Nature Reserves.
2022
Broken Record
We were absolutely delighted to announce that on Monday 28th March 2022, Highland Titles achieved a new Guinness® World Record for the world’s biggest bug/insect hotel, at 199.9 m³, meaning that Highland Titles is “Officially Amazing®”.
2023
From strength to strength
2023 is a year of projects. As well as improving access to our Kilnaish Nature Reserve, we supported the Great Yellow Bumblebee through our collaborative ‘On the verge’ initiative and restocked Loch Fois with brown trout.
2024
Highland Coos
We introduced two Highland Coos to the Highland Titles Nature Reserve at Duror. Twin boys, Andy Mooray and Ewan MooGregor! They play an important role in maintaining the health and biodiversity of the land. You can even adopt the cows!

The Celtic Connection

Just as Highland Titles has been selling souvenir plots of land in Scotland for 18 years, Celtic Titles sells souvenir plots of land in Northern Ireland and use the profits to manage the land as a nature reserve.
